How I survived Obasanjo's attacks - Atiku

Former Vice President Ati­ku Abubakar has revealed that it was the dexterity of his media office that helped him to survive plots by his then es­tranged boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to “exterminate” him.
Atiku therefore urged the Ni­gerian media to continue to re­main resolute in disseminating the truth, stressing that it has be­come more obvious in support of the democratic dispensation.
The former vice president, who spoke in Abuja on Thursday at the 10th anniversary of the Ati­ku Media Office, explained that he incurred the wrath of his for­mer boss for speaking against the Third Term Agenda of Obasanjo.
He said his support for the rule of law, entrenchment of dem­ocratic principles and other irrec­oncilable differences, pitched him against his boss.
Atiku explained that his me­dia office firmly countered infor­mation churned out against him, stressing that were it not for the resolute manner the office re­sponded to every propaganda and lies against him, he may not have made it till now.
Represented by the Head of the Atiku Media Office, Mazi Paul Ibe, the Turakin Adamawa not­ed that his resolve to setup the of­fice was propelled by the crises he faced as Vice President.
