Enugu State Government says it has concluded plans to institute uniform curriculum for all levels of its education sector.
The state has also set machineries in motion for the renovation/reconstruction of 300 primary and secondary schools in parts of the state as another way of boosting the sector.
The state Commissioner for Information, Dr Godwin Udeuhele, announced this while briefing newsmen after the Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Enugu.
He stated that government took the decision following the poor performance of pupils and students in schools in recent times.
He noted that with this approval, more than three hundred secondary and primary schools in the state would be renovated/constructed to ensure a good teaching and learning environment for the children.
According to him, the Exco had also approved a memorandum on the urgent need for monitoring the performances of teachers and their pupils to measure their achievements in public schools as a way of
improving the standard of education in the state.
