Dambazau tasks new Prisons, Immigration bosses on service delivery

The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) has charged the newly-appointed Comptrollers-Generals of Immigration and Prisons to ensure professionalism and efficient service delivery in discharging their duties as they take over the mantles of leadership in their various services.
Dambazau gave the charge on Wednesday in Abuja while decorating the newly-appointed Comptroller- General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Mohammed Babandede, and his counterpart Mr. Ahmed Ja’afaru of the Nigerian Prisons Service.
President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the appointment of both Service Chiefs after the retirement of their predecessors.
The minister specifically charged the new NIS boss to expedite action on the delay in the issuance of passports to Nigerians and ensure general professionalism in the service.
He also tasked the new NPS boss on the need to fast-track the prisons’ decongestion process while ensuring better training and welfare for prison officials.
