UCL|Guardiola drops Nigerian for £50m new signing
Tosin Adarabioyo is conspicuously missing in the list of
Manchester City defenders for the clash against Steaua Bucharest in the
Champions League playoff round.
Interestingly, yet-to-be-confirmed £50m Everton target John Stones is the roster of players selected by Coach Pep Guardiola.
UEFA displayed the defender as having the No. 24 shirt — which is currently vacant on the Man City squad list.
For many, this might just be the biggest hint that the move to City is all but for confirmed for England defender.
Meanwhile, some of the other players in the Champions League playoff round squad for City include new signings Nolito and Leroy Sane.
There was however no place for Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony as they were all missing from the list along with injured duo Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan.
City’s pursuit of Stones has been made more urgent as captain Kompany is still recovering from a groin strain while Nicolas Otamendi and Mangala both missed Sunday’s friendly with Arsenal.
Man City take on Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League playoff round, with the first leg in Romania on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
