Babatunde ready to work with new Eagles boss Rohr
Nigeria international Michael Babatunde has expressed readiness to
work under new Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, following the German’s
appointment on Tuesday.
Franco-German Rohr was named the new Nigeria coach on a two-year contract on Tuesday, and will lead the Super Eagles into the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, and Babatunde says he ready to work the new coach.
“I’m happy to work with him or anyone else for that matter,” Babatunde told fcnaija.com.
“The most important thing is playing and representing Nigeria and I believe I will have a shirt when he officially begins work,” he said.
Rohr, a former Burkina Faso coach, replaces Sunday Oliseh, who resigned as the Nigeria coach in February.
Nigeria has been drawn in a very tough World Cup qualifying group, as they will battle former African champions Algeria, Zambia and Cameroon for a place in Russia in 2018.
He will however begin his task with a dead-rubber Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania next month, before the World Cup qualifiers begin.
