Nollywood bests set to stage Soyinka's 'The Trials of Brother Jero'

In an initiative of the Live Theatre on Sunday, some of Nollywood finest acts are set to put on stage, a theatre perfor­mance of renowned Nigerian writer, Wole Soyinka’s play, The Trials of Brother Jero in view of the 2016 Season of Soyinka. The show is to take place on the 7th and 8th of July, in Lagos.
Names that have been un­veiled for the play includes; Jide Kosoko, Chigul, EmmaohMy­God, Oreka Godis, Patrick Diabuah, Paul Alumona, Deb­bie Ohiri, Opeyemi Dada and Goodness Emmanuel.
The play which is directed by Kenneth Uphopho and pro­duced by Oluwanisola Adenuga, is Wole Soyinka’s comedy mas­terpiece set on the now defunct Bar Beach featuring an unscru­pulous young prophet and his antics. Originally published in 1969, the play which lampoons greed in society is a classic com­edy piece bound to relax its au­dience.
