Uche Ogah came second in the PDP primaries in Abia State that produced Okezie Ikpeazu.
On Monday, June 27, a court in Abuja, asked INEC to cease the Certificate of Return issued to Okezie Ikpeazu.
Recall that a on Monday, June 27th, A Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as Abia State Governor for allegedly declaration a false tax clearance certificate.
According to the ruling, Ikpeazu was never qualified to run in the primaries as a governorship candidate.
The judge also ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear in Ogah as the substantive governor of Abia state.
The same Justice who ruled against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is the judge sitting on Olisa Metuh’s case. The case was filed by the Buhari led government.
Metuh had urged the Chief Judge of the High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, to transfer his case-file from Justice Okon Abang to another Judge.
Recall that Justice Abang who disclosed that a copy of the petition to transfer Metuh’s case was forwarded to him by the CJ on March 16.
Abang said he would not hands-off the case.
Thereafter, Justice Abang announced that Metuh’s trial shall hold on day-to-day basis.
Throughout the conduct of the case of the prosecution, Justice Abang refused Applications made by Olisa Metuh’s counsel except where the prosecution states that it is not opposed to the Application.
In response, Justice Abang stated that “I am of the view that there are no facts or evidence disclosed by the applicant (Metuh) in support of the allegation that this court as constituted is biased.
Like Metuh, cases presided over by Justice Abang may not see justice done afterall.
