Watford have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Isaac Success
from Granada for club record fee in the region of £12.5m, according to
Sky sources.
The 20-year old striker who etched his name into the Andalusian outfit’s folklore as the youngest player to debut for them in La Liga when he started and completed a game against Elche two seasons ago – he was 18 years, 7 months and 24 days.
He sealed his move to the Hawthorns and joins compatriot and clubs topscorer for last season Odion Ighalo.
The Nigerian left an emotional farewell letter for Granada and fans as he left for England.
“Two years ago I came to this amazing city, with a dream. I chased that dream since childhood and was playing in my town. From Benin City, it looked so far to play in Europe, to be a star, one of the greats, but thanks to the U17 World Cup in 2013 and I could begin to live it.
“So I leave thanking and saying this is not goodbye, it’s a see you soon, because I hope that life throws my way again in this club that I owe so much.”
Success made 28 starts out of the 30 matches he played for Granada last season and registered eight goals.
