Willian set to sign bumper new Chelsea deal
Chelsea are set to offer Brazilian midfielder Willian a
new four-year-deal at the club amid rumours of interest from former
manager Jose Mourinho.
Willian was voted Chelsea’s Player of the Year last season but he was Mourinho’s most trusted general in a below par season that saw the Portuguese sacked by the Blues for a second time.
The Brazilian has two years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and now appears on the brink of extending his stay as the Blues have offered the Brazilian a new four-year contract which he is set to sign imminently.
Willian has already predicted that the Red Devils will be stronger under Jose Mourinho next season which has further sparked rumours that he maybe joining his former boss at Old Trafford.
“Jose is one of the most successful coaches in the world and Manchester United will be stronger with him as manager,” Willian said.
“I played some of my best football under Mourinho. He is a special coach and I have a great relationship with him.
“Winning the Premier League with him was one of the highlights of my career. I was sad things didn’t work out after that.”
Manchester United are prepared to spend at least £60million on Willian but Chelsea are not willing to give up on the former Shakhtar Donetsk man as they are adamant the 27-year-old is a big part of their future.
