We must be ready to die for Enyimba in South Africa – Kester

Enyimba FC midfielder Kelly Kester says all members of the Peoples’ Elephant squad that will take to the pitch against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday in a CAF CL group B fixture must be ready to die for the team if they are to revive their continental campaign dreams.
Kester and his team-mates will head into Wednesday’s clash on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Egyptian outfit Zamalek in their opening tei on home turf. Mamelodi Sundowns’ first leg tie against Algerian side Es Setif was cancelled following an expulsion by CAF.

Speaking to fcnaija.com in an exclusive chat, the former Shooting Stars man had this to say: “It’s a very big game for me. Playing in d biggest competition in Africa club football is a big deal
“As a team it’s even bigger cos we lost our 1st game @ home wish shldnt have happened considering d balance of play…we were just unlucky. But that’s football
“We need a really Gud result here today to keep d dream alive. By d grace of God come d end of game we’ll have cause to smile. D spirit is great. Everyone is super focused because we all know what’s at stake here.
“Like my former coach…Gbenga ogunbote always say to me “go into to field and die and come out alive”. I guess that literally says it all. We’re gonna give our best.” Kester said.
CAF last week announced their decision to expel the ES Setif from the tournament following the unruly behaviour of their fans, which saw their match against The Brazilians a fortnight ago end prematurely due to fears for the match officials and players’ safety.
