For a video, that was wildly shared on social media, showed the Wales squad, featuring the likes of Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen of Liverpool, wildly celebrating Ragnar Sigurdsson’s equaliser in the first half.
The footage showed Chris Coleman’s men jumping for joy in the team hotel as Iceland recorded one of the biggest upsets in European Championship history.
The Welsh contingent may have seen it as payback following their 2-1 defeat to the Three Lions in the group stage.
And there was absolutely no mercy from England’s rivals as they celebrated with glee.
England conceded a second a few minutes later after a Joe Hart howler and subsequently suffered a 2-1 defeat in the last-16 tie.
Wales face Belgium in the quarter-finals on Friday night.
