Troost-Ekong extends Gent contract
Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has extended his deal with
Belgian club KAA Gent, but will remain with FK Haugesund where he has
been on loan until November, fcnaija.com understands.
The Nigeria international has extended his deal until the summer of 2018, with the previous deal ending by December.
Troost-Ekong, 22, signed for Gent last summer but was loaned out to FK Haugesund in the Norwegian league but with the central defender impressive in the Scandinavia, Gent have quickly tied him to a longer contract.
The new contract notwithstanding, he will remain with the Norwegian club until November, when the Norwegian league comes to an end.
The player also confirmed the developments himself: “New contract with @KAAGent today #Buffalo,” he wrote on Twitter.
He became a Nigeria international last year when he debuted in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad after switching allegiance from Holland.
