Transfer | Chelsea beat Spurs and Palace to Belgian striker

Chelsea have been quiet in the transfer window thus far but the Blues showed that Roman Abramovich is not in France for a holiday.
News broke on Tuesday that Marseille had agreed to sell Michy Batshuayi to Crystal Palace for about £32million even though Tottenham were supposed to upstage their London neighbours for the signature of the 22-year-old, who scored 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season.
But Chelsea have apparently jumped the queue as the striker is said to have a medical in Bordeaux ahead of £33.2million deal with the Blues.

Marseille are supposedly in a race against time to raise £21 million before July 5 or risk sanctions from the Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) – the body that regulates the finances of football clubs in France.
Batshuayi scored for Belgium against Hungary on Sunday after coming on as a substitute for Romelu Lukaku. He transferred to Marseille in 2014 from Standard Liege, where he was a team mate to Nigeria U-23 striker, Imoh Ezekiel.
