Super Eagles coach to be known in two weeks
The Nigeria Football Federation has said a substantive coach for the Super Eagles will be known within ‘a week or two’.
Speaking to the media on Saturday in Abuja, second vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Shehu Dikko said now that the draws for the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup have been known, they will announce a coach for the Super Eagles.
“The federation will work very hard within the next one week or two to sort out a coach,” Dikko said.
“It is better now that we know the draws and we know the countries we will play and we will know the kind of coach that we will bring in that will be able to get the right results.
“Maybe the delay that we had might turn out to be blessing for us at the end of the day,” he added.
Friday’s 2018 World Cup draw pitted Nigeria with Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia in group B, in what is seen as a very tough group.
Nigeria exited the last World Cup at the round of 16, but has now failed to qualify for the 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
