They spoke during the church service marking the end of Diocese of the Niger Synod held at St Andrews Anglican Church Obosi, and the commissioning of Juliana Obumnwe Chidioka Hall built and donated by Chidoka family.
Governor Obiano who was represented at the occasion by his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country and promised that all the promises made to the Diocese on the Niger, including immortalising the late literary icon, Prof Chinua Achebe, will be met by his government.
He said that some of the houses built in honour of late Achebe especially some school buildings which are dilapidating would be rebuilt. The governor appealed to the people of the state and Obosi people in particular to continue to support Chief Willie Obiano who has been delivering dividends of democracy to the state.
The Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Aminu Dogara, who was represented by Hon Austin Chukwukere representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, thanked the Chidioka family for the love of God and remembering that they must give back to God who has done so much for their family.
Former Governor Obi said that Nigeria is going through the most difficult time in her life and appealed for prayer for the country and President Muhammadu Buhari who has been outside the country for health reason.
Corp Marshall of FRSC, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi said that Nigerians should not be tired of praying to God and doing good things for the country to move forward, just as they should not relent in praying and supporting the present administration of President Buhari to take the country where it should be economically and politically.
