Music star, Runtown, in messy court battle with record label
Nigerian Afropop star, Lagos to Kampala crooner, Douglas Jack Agu
famous as Runtown, has been rumored to opt out of the recording contract
he has with Eric Manny Entertainment Label over unresolved
discordance.
The Enugu State born artiste has however, been given an injunction
from the Federal High Court, via the levies against him by Eric Manny
Entertainment boss, billionaire industrialist Okwudili Umenyiora,
stopping the singer from any form of performance or recording pending
the time their differences are resolved.
The 26-year-old, on his part, he has spoken out in a letter through
his lawyers citing undue extortion, threat to life and zero payments for
performances, royalties and more as reasons he opted out of his
contract with the label.
Runtown who signed to the music company in 2014 has reportedly
returned all assets of the management in his possession following the
law suit.
In November 2015, the singer released the highly received Ghetto
University album under Eric Manny Entertainment. In March, 2016, he
shot the video for the hit song Lagos To Kampala featuring Wizkid in Los
Angeles. It was directed by ace music director, Sesan Ogunro. He is
known for songs like Gallardo, Domot, Banging, Latest and others. He
also confirmed selling the famous Aye song to Davido.
