Flying Eagles stun Dream Team again in thrilling encounter

The Nigeria U20 side got another one over their U23 counterparts with a 4-3 win in a tune-up game played at the Abuja National Stadium on Saturday.
The U23 side, heading to the Olympic Games in Brazil, had earlier lost 2-1 a couple of months ago to the same U20 side in a friendly and had hoped to get their pound of flesh over their junior colleagues, but it wasn’t to be.

In a thrilling encounter watched by a good number of fans and members of the Nigeria Football Federation, both teams tried to get the best of each other but it was the Flying Eagles, who looked more commanding.
Led by skipper Kelechi Nwakali, the U20’s played with a great deal of confidence, while Orji Okonkwo and Victor Osimhen also proved a handful for the U23’s
There was also some improvements in the way the Dream Team played, with skipper Okechukwu Azubuike orchestrating play from the midfield along with Shehu Abdullahi.
The Flying Eagles however seemed more determined, as they went into the break with a 3-1 lead, much to the amazement and excitement of the fans present at the Stadium.
Arsenal-bound Nwakali’s continuous eye-popping passes was difficult for the Dream Team defenders to track, and Emmanuel Amuneke’s men ended the game with a 4-3 defeat of Samson Siasia’s team.
The Flying Eagles have two games against the Sudanese U20’s in the final round of qualifiers for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, while the Dream Team are off to America where they have will have a final training camp before leaving for the Olympic Games in Rio.
