Fed Cup Match Preview: MFM FC battle Katsina United in Lokoja

Another thrilling encounter is on the cards in this year’s Federation Cup as  Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos and Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Katsina United Football Club of Katsina battle in one of the Round of 32 match day 2 fixtures

The two sides will go head-to-head this Thursday at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, Kogi State with the sole aim of booking a place in the Round of 16 of what used to be the National Challenge Cup.
Pundits across the country are of the opinion that the NPFL side stands a better chance of progressing to the next round of the competition even though the Federation Cup like past years have recorded a number of shock results; including the exit of Kano Pillars who were sent packing by Prime FC.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has ordered his wards to go all out against Katsina United FC as they hope to seal a place in the round of 16 of the Oldest Cup competition in Nigeria, thus Lokoja fans are in for a lifetime football experience that promises to be a tough and interesting encounter.
The NPFL debutant have won two games out of their last four with two wins, one draw and one defeat.
Katsina United FC on the other hand have also won two out of their opening three league matches played so far in the second tier of Nigerian football this season. They are one of the teams tipped to gain promotion to the top league.
MFM FC goalkeeper , Abayomi Folarin who helped the Lagos-based team claim a spot in this round  following his heroic performance in the round 64 against El-Kanemi Babes Football Club of Maiduguri is expected to man the post.
Trusted and reliable defender, Opara Austine and Abisoye Olawale, Chuka Uwaga, Monsuru Bashiru, Yisa Anifowoshe, Stanley Okorom have what it takes to do a yeoman’s job at the back line.
Ex-junior international, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi will lead the likes of Atu Irumekhai Paul, Semiu Abatan and others in the middle of the park.
The young tactician will be relying on tricky left-winger, Sikiru Olatunbosun, teenage striker Stephen Odey, and experienced forward Isah Akor, Adekunle Adegboyega, Austine Ogunye, Monday Shinshinma and Chidi Akuneto to get the needed results.
