Edo Assembly approves N366m to pay LG's workers

Edo State House of As­sembly has given Gover­nor Oshiomhole access to the sum of N366m bailout funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The bailout will be for pay­ment of salary arrears of Egor Local Government workers who have been owed for 16 months.

The lawmakers came to a resolution following a request by Oshiomhole to the emer­gency plenary on Monday which stated that the fund would be used to pay salary ar­rears of the council work-ers.

Majority Leader, Hon Folly Ogedengbe, who moved the motion, said Egor council was omitted in the list of the bailout fund earlier sent to the CBN, noting that the resolu­tion was meant to cap-ture needs of the council staff that were left out.

The Speaker of the House, Hon Elizabeth Ativie, said the lawmakers called off their re­cess to consider the interest of Egor council workers and put smile on their faces.
