Done deal: Bournemouth snap-up Chelsea full-back
AFC Bournemouth have signed Chelsea full-back Nathan Ake on a season-long loan deal as confirmed by the West London outfit.
Ake spent last season on loan at Watford, playing 28 times as the club finished 13th in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-final.
Confirming the youngster’s departure to Dean Court, Chelsea in a statement wrote: “Nathan Ake will spend the 2016/17 season on loan at Bournemouth.”
Ake signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea last summer and has made 12 first-team appearances for the Blues, as well as playing five times for Reading during a 2015 loan spell.
The 21-year-old moves to the south coast having also spent last season in the Premier League at Watford, where his performances at left-back won the club’s Young Player of the Year award and helped them reach the FA Cup semi-final.
Ake, who has played 12 times for Chelsea including matches in successful Europa League and League Cup campaigns, signed a new five-year contract last summer having joined our Academy in 2011. He is a Netherlands Under-21 international.
