Copa America: Brazil gets 2019 hosting right

CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez Rodriguez has confirmed that the 2019 edition of Copa América will take place in Brazil.
Brazil was due to host the tournament in 2015, but surrendered their turn to Chile, due to the fact that it fell in between the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, both hosted by Brazil.
Rodriguez also lavished praise on the current tournament, which has undergone the first round of group games.

“The Copa América in America has been beautiful, as it was last year in Chile and as it will be in Brazil in 2019.”
“I believe people are taking advantage of it, the football is putting on a great show. And in fact, I hope that as the playing of the matches continues; that the level increases.” Rodriguez is quoted as saying on Sambafoot.
The tournament ordinarily takes place every four years, though a special centenary edition is currently taking place in the USA. Hosting duties are rotated alphabetically between the CONMEBOL countries.
The stadiums will be announced at a later date, but with the World Cup having taken place so recently, it is unlikely that Brazil will bear any stadium renovation costs for hosting the 2019 Copa.
