2018 WCQ: Ghana players will give their blood to qualify – Badu
Ghana and Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says
himself and other members of the Black Stars squad will give their sweat
and blood to ensure Ghana’s flag is hoisted in Russia when the 2018
World Cup kicks off.
The Black Stars were on Friday at the CAF headquarters in Cairo drawn against Congo, Egypt and Uganda in the group E world Cup qualifiers.
But the combative midfielder who remained unfazed despite the tough opposition said: “It’s a very tricky encounter group but we are ready for everything and that is very important.
“We will give our sweat and blood to win the group and form me that is the most important thing.” Badu is quoted as saying on Ghanaweb.
Meahwile, the Black Stars safe hands Razak Brimah who missed the 7-3 aggregate win over the Pharaohs in the playoff contest to the 2014 finals in Brazil says Ghana are well conditioned to face Egypt, Uganda and Congo in the 218 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Cordoba goalkeeper who has been first choice for the national team in the past two years and has garnered a lot of international football experience believes the three-time finalists are primed for another qualification to the greatest sporting event in the world.
“In football, every team is good but what I can say is that we have teamwork and good players too so we are looking to preparing to face these teams and make sure we take all the points available so that we can make it,” Brimah told GHANASoccernet.com.
Ghana will open the group with a clash with the Cranes of Uganda at home on the 10th of October 2016 before moving to play Egypt in Cairo.
