Chisom Chikatara’s move to Wydad Casablanca off

Nigeria striker Chisom Chikatara’s proposed move to Wydad Casablanca is all but dead with his club claiming the Moroccans have not met their financial obligations.
The Abia Warriors striker was set to complete a move the Moroccan club in June, after agreeing terms in February, but he will not be joining Wydad as earlier expected, because they are yet to pay his transfer fee to their Nigerian counterparts, according to Warriors’ chairman, Emeka Inyama.
“Chisom Chikatara’s deal with Wydad Casablanca is on hold because the club has failed to meet up with their financial obligations,” Inyama told fcnaija.com.

“We are a very serious club and we don’t do things haphazardly, so that is the reason why he isn’t moving there yet,” Inyama added.
It remains unclear if Wydad will go forward with the transfer, as they have now been in placed in group A of the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
Chikatara, 21, scored four goals for Nigeria at the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, and was tipped for big things.
He has since suffered injuries and have failed to show the form that earned a place in the Super Eagles and almost earned him a deal abroad.
