England Bayern Munich open to Schweinsteiger return

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could return to Bayern Munich following reports from Germany that there could be a place for World Cup winner back at Allianz Arena if he leaves Manchester United.
It is understood that Schweinsteiger is one of several players that Jose Mourinho is hoping to offload at Old Trafford this summer.

With Paul Pogba reportedly close to a return to Old Trafford, Schweinsteiger could be set to leave the club despite having two years left on his contract and Sky Sport say Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who does not expect Schweinsteiger to struggle to find a new employer has suggested the Bavarian door is open for his return.
“Should he speak at some point about a desire to return, then we will discuss it with him.
“It’s important to bind players who deserve it to the club,” Bayern captain Philipp Lahm told Sport Bild. “Basti knows everyone and everything here, he would be predestined to work in the team.” ,” Rummenigge stated.
Schweinsteiger who moved to Old Trafford in 2015 after winning eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern, as well as the German Cup seven times and the 2013 Champions League announced his international retirement last week after 120 appearances for Germany, which included a World Cup final win in 2014.
The German turned 32 has endured an injury-ravaged season during his time at Old Trafford, managing to only 31 appearances.  According to reports, Schweinsteiger was on Monday told to train with the reserves by Jose Mourinho, the same day his locker in United’s first-team dressing room was reportedly cleared out.
