NFF to unveil new Super Eagles Coach in July
The Nigeria Football Federation will unveil a new coach for the Super Eagles in July FCNaija.com has been told.
NFF Technical and Development Committee chairman, Barrister Chris Green has given firm assurances that they will make sure all the issues around naming a new manager for the Super Eagles is sorted unfailingly by next month.
The Nigeria National team have been without a substantive coach since Sunday Oliseh resigned after the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda and according to Green a lot of applications have been received for the vacant post.
“We have submitted our recommendation to the NFF executive board members after receiving a lot of application from coaches who have shown interest in the job,” Green revealed.
At the moment, Salisu Yusuf has been in charge of the Eagles in interim capacity with the duo of Rangers International coach Imama Amapakabo and Abia Warriors manager Kennedy Boboye assisting,
Nigeria is in a tough group for Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers together with Zambia’s Chipolopolo, Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions and Algeria’s Desert Foxes.
Two names have been brandished as top favourites for the Eagles job; one of them is French coach, Paul Le Guen. The 52-year old has managed PSG and Lyon, he also worked in Cameroon and his last job was in 2015 in Oman.
Also Serbian coach Goran Stevanovic who has handled the Ghana national team before is said to be on the wish list of the NFF.
