Alves joins Serie A newcomers Cagliari

Serie A side Cagliari have confirmed the signing Bruno Alves on a two-year deal after the Portuguese parted ways with Super Lig side Fenerbahce.
“Bruno Alves has signed a contract to tie him to Cagliari until June 30, 2018.
“The Rossoblu have ensured the presence on the pitch of a real warrior, who is used to facing the toughest strikers in the world and will asset great aggressiveness, personality, technique, and boundless physical power.” A club statement stated.

The 34-year-old has played for Porto, Farense, Vitoria Guimaraes, AEK Athens and Zenit before joining Turkish side Fenerbahce in 2013.
Cagliari secured their promotion into Serie A by topping the Serie B table this season.
