Lagos court remands wife killer in prison
 Mr Lekan Shonde  who allegedly killed his wife, Ronke Shonde has been remanded in Ikoyi  prisons by Mrs O. I. Adelaja of Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court  sitting at Oyingbo
 He remains in  Ikoyi prisons pending the legal advice from the office of the Director  of Public Prosecution (DPP). Shonde is facing a one count charge  bordering on murder preferred against him by the police.
 In the charge  sheet Olalekan Shonde 51, a dock worker, was alleged to have murdered  his wife, one Ronke Shonde 37, on May 5, 2016, at about 2:30pm at 3,  Tiemo Street, Egbeda, Lagos, by giving her fist blow on her head.
 According to the  charge, the offence is punishable under section 221 of the criminal law  of Lagos state 2011. The accused however denied killing his wife.
 The prosecutor,  Inspector Chinalu Uwadione urged the court to remand the accused in  prison custody to enable him send the case file to DPP’s office for  legal advice.
 Meanwhile counsel to the accused, I. V. Mohammed who appeared before the court did not oppose the remand order.
 Adelaja said:  “The offence is a capital offence, accused is to be remanded pursuant  to section 264 (1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law ACJL  of Lagos State”.
 She further  stated that the prosecution should forward the case file to the DPP’s  office for legal advice and adjourned the case to June 24, for mention.
