Forget Madrid, Leicester is Europe’s biggest achiever’s

The 2015/16 could go down as the Leicester City season as the Foxes coasted through their campaign and created an unforgettable history.
Leicester City was formed in 1884 and waited 132 years before laying their hands on the premier league title – a feat rated bigger than the UEFA Champions League undecimal won by Real Madrid or Juventus Serie A triumph or the Spanish League title lifted by Barcelona or the double winning feat of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint German in their respective leagues.

Many will argue that the UEFA Champions League is Europe’s biggest competition and the winner every year could be termed the best team in Europe but is Real Madrid’s triumph the biggest achievement in 2016?
Winning the eleventh Champions League is a huge achievement especially coming at the back of a difficult win against City rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties in the Milan final.
It ranks above the Spanish La Liga triumph by Barcelona in the three-horse race that finished on the last day of the season with the Catalan club winning the title just by a point.
In France, Paris Saint German won the French Ligue 1 with eight games to spare as they wrapped up a fourth consecutive title and capped it up with the French Cup and a befitting sentforth for Swedish football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It was a remarkable feat by the Parisians but it was almost same in Germany as Bayern Munich beat closest rivals Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal to give Pep Guardiola a goodbye gift as he departs to take charge of Manchester City.
In Italy, Juventus lay claims to their fourth consecutive Serie A title in remarkable fashion as they started the season poorly even flirting with the relegation zone at some point but bounced back to pip Napoli and Roma to the title and followed it up with the Italian Super Cup.

However, one major difference is that in the above leagues mention – the winners had to compete against one or two teams for the title and in the case of Paris Saint German they only challenged themselves.
But in 2016, where it is difficult to win the title without spending big. Leicester City won it with a squad that costs just £22.25m and that’s astonishing to say the least.
They competed in a league that had the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United and still won the league with two games left to spare.
Their fairytale episode could go down as the best football moment in the history of the British game and world football in general but most importantly for the die-hard supporters of the club who have kept faith with the side through thick and thin it was an unforgettable experience.
Leicester City’s premier league title win remains the biggest achievement in Europe in the 2015/16 and it is well deserved!
